The first photograph you see is asymmetrical. This implies that it is balance from right to left but with a different content, the person on the left balances all three people on the right because it is closer. Unlike the first photograph the second is symmetrical, it is perfectly balance with the same background and the same amount of people on each side. Having balance in a photograph is important to make the photo more interesting to see.
